Professional Qualification

A lecturer of Physics who is Ph.D. in his subject is told that he was not professionally qualified. It was a shock for a moment. But he agreed next moment to what he was told.
It is a general notion that the people working in colleges, schools and teaching different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics etc and have earned Master's degree and even higher are professionally qualified. Of course not. They are the experts of their subjects but the profession to which they belong is called Education and of course they are not professionally qualified unless they are M.Ed.

B.Ed. is the last option to have some say in the field of Education.

Those who are not B.Ed. even but they have earned the degrees of very high reputation like M.Sc., M.Com. M.A. or higher even are not qualified for the profession of Education.

Now if you survey the colleges professors, lecturers you will find that 90% personnel are not qualified for the profession as they are not B.Ed. as it was never required by the UGC or any other authorised agency looking after the quality of the education of India.

Now I understand that why the standard of education is going down on India. Of course the people involved in education are not professional for the want of professional qualification.

Let us hope that at least B.Ed. will be a compulsory qualification besides M.Phil. or any higher degree for any teaching post in the colleges if some authority is convinced with this blog.
